I asked in the SRT session today about new rear gear choices and they said

"There are currently no plans to provide optional ratios, TODAY. So you know, the transmission and ESP cals along with the engine cals , would all have to be changed as they all work off of trans out speed."

The way today was typed kinda leads on about tomorrow.......

BTW, I started going through the forums there and saw a guy with a stock 300C SRT and was getting a 4.44 0-60 time with the in dash calc!

If they are starting to make 2009 challengers on april 14th { 30 days from now } my question is where and when am I gonna get my 2008 srt8 that is in C status.

Latest official info stands correct :

2008 production starts next month (between April 14-21). 2009 production set for June/July. NO 2008 retail models have been built yet.

Plant is still running pre-production models ....
March 12th a plant worker mentioned - 4 Challengers down the line on my shift today; two autos and two sticks!
All 2009 they were fully loaded models in Black, Silver and Performance Red (aka Torred).
The next day again he mentioned - And another 4 today, 3 of which were sticks. Production is close cause there were less engineers around with every passing one.

btw - none of those cars are sold - it all depends on how well they go together as a final check on the line before customer cars are built. Any line problems and they will go to corp people only and not the public.

I found this unbelievable post on another Chrysler forum.

This must be pure bs. On allpar they are already posting that 3.5 V6 pre-production Challengers (the car for the masses) are coming off the assembly line.

The crazy rumor is that the Challenger will only have a 2-year run (i.e., 2009 will be the last year). If the Challenger sells well in 2009, I cannot see any way that it will not be continued into 2010.
