I went SRT only cuz I wanted the "Top of the Line" HiPo Mopar. I want a R/T also in two or three years.

Pretty much, there is a certain cachet that come with owning an SRT8 but is that and the couple of tenths worth six to ten grand? I had to question my purchase.

Re: Motor Trend...YOU GO NOW!

I kind of have to agree with Motor Trend----SRT's before the Challenger had a huge horsepower advantage. Before we bought our Viper Ram I looked at a Rumble Bee, nice truck but stock Hemi with I think was 340 horses 5.7. Viper Ram 8.3--500 horses but the option was $23.000 . I really think it would be cool if Dodge would put the 6.4 Hemi in the SRT Challenger.

I, too, wish that there was more of a performance difference in the 1/4 between an RT and SRT because the top speed advantage is irrelevant. Where can you go 170 mph? That being said .5 sec. in the quarter will translate into about 5 car lengths- quite a decisive win.

Also, SRTs are more than just the engine- better wheels, brakes, suspension, instrumentation, seats, etc. I am still very happy with my decision to order an SRT.

Re: Motor Trend...YOU GO NOW!

I very happy to see that with minor changes like stickier tires the Challenger will perform exponentialy better.
