New 2013 R/t, what to do

Hi everyone, I bought a 2013 R/t 3 weeks ago. I love the car. But I want to do some things to it now to make it better and a little more unique. Its the base model, so it has the 18in rims. Its black in color. What are some general things I should know about the car? and what are some of the best performance upgrades I can do. I want to do a CAI, electric exhaust cutouts, go-wing, etc

Any other info about about these cars would be great to know. I have always wanted one and now have one. Im just used to older cars (72 charger) where parts were a lot cheaper and sold by the major places like Jegs and Summit. It seems hard and expensive to find parts for these cars lol.

Start with a tuner (Trinity from DiabloSport), and then... supercharge and be done.

the trininty tuner may not work for 2013's i would double check just as advice.

check out speedlogix and shophemi for starters.

As of right now 2013 is not supported. Whether it is a small patch or a completely new challenge to tackle is unclear to me. Recent comments have led me to beleive that its right around the corner.

To the OP, i would hold off and wait for the tuning support before you start adding bolt ons. It seems intake and exhaust gains are negligible on new models without tuning.

The only go fast mod for us right now seems to be tires lol. Tho i think B&G may support 2013 pcm swaps.

To install a Go-Wing you will either have to plug holes and drill new holes in your existing decklid (the mounting holes do not match up with the stock spoiler), or you can buy a decklid from an SE model that did not come with a spoiler and drill new holes in that for mounting.

The best performance upgrades are camshafts, headers, and superchargers. You should get tuning support here very soon.

Basic bolt ons won't give you much power, but they help. I would suggest a catback exhaust, cold air intake, and ported throttle body.

If you have the STP you should be good for handling, if not, get a good coilover kit.

you can always order one with the external appearance package and get the go wing as part of the car from the factory, that way you don't have to fix any holes in the trunklid or swap out a different trunklid. There are plenty of mods available to those interested, wheels, interior, engine bay, etc, its all up to you to decide what you want to do to it. And how deep your pockets are.

Well I wont ever be able to afford a supercharger lol, but i like the idea of the tuner and other little bolt ons. What will a lower temp thermostat do for me? I always hear about people doing that, but what does it do for the car? Also Thanks for the suggestions of places to look for parts too online.

The other thing that I never understood was why you need a tuner to support CAI and exhaust bolt ons? Again, im used to old cars where those mods add hp immedialty.

And so is it true that no one sells a go-wing that goes in place of the stock trunk spoier?

And one last question for now: I dont have the limited slip in the diff, my window sticker doesnt say anything about it, but it does dual tire burn outs when i gun it, does it have a posi-trac?

To answer your bolt on question in laymans terms. The stock components of the newer model challengers are relatively efficient. And even if you make them more efficent, you have no way to make the cars computer acknowledge and compensate for the additional efficiency. ( other than a pcm swap but thats another story)

People are gaining single digit hp numbers from 300$ intakes and exhausts ranging from 500$ on up to 1500$. Its simply not a reasonable gain for the amount of money invested UNLESS you can tune for it.

Of course there are other gains to consider, IE throttle response, sound, appearance etc.
