General DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the new Dodge Challenger concept. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
Just heard from my local dealer salesman, that has always been in the know and always been honest with me before, that the new Challenger has been given the axe by DCX due to extreme pressers to become profitable again. Focus and current funding are said to have been re-directed towards current and future hybrid and electric vehicle projects. What the Hell? Just when I and everyone else was getting ready to plunk down $ and drive home one of these beauties.

Well, would you care to release the dealership and this salesman's name for verification ? I find this extremely hard to fathom considering all that has gone into the Challenger. Also, as with something as "astonishing" as this ,I highly doubt a salesman is going to know before an official announcement as well as insiders/media types too ! Besides it will be profitable; low volume or high. Would DCX allow themselves to be this highly embarrassed, humiliated in the publics eyes ,just 6 weeks later after this : PRESS RELEASE

LMAO. Yea. I've learned over the course of the day NOT to take to heart any news releases via message board. If something someone rumors to be true today actually IS true......then you'll know by the end of the week.
What perfect timing! I just got done reading my DC stock annual meeting.
One of the items to vote on is changing the name of DC back to DB.
Reason given: "Maintaining a corporate name that evokes associations with the failure of the business combination with Chrsler is detrimental to the image of the corporation..." Then mentions all the unflattering nicknames.
Also of note:
"The board of management is authorized to defer notification of the change of name for entry in the commercial register until the Chrysler group is seperated from the group or sold, but not later then March, 31 2008."

No joke! This really pisses me off!!!!
SO changing the name back will change the image of them screwing the pooch, huh?
The funny thing was Chrysler was on a roll with some nice looking cars and profits until Daimler Benz entered the picture. Could it be they are the problem?

Also, I've been noticing in Consumer Reports magazine [anyways] that most of the Mercedes models are getting extremely poor ratings in the "reliability" category. Why is that ? I've always thought, heard and believed that German-Made items are quality[ or at least engineered ] ; or could it be the Mercedes' that are made here in America [ that are getting the poors ] ?
