Re: New Challenger May Distress Muscle Car Auctions

I don't think it'll hurt the Auctions or Vintage market whatso ever, they've already priced themselves out of the Working man's price range unless both husband and wife work and both love the Classics. As a young man with a couple of little ones I had to sell my 70 cuda because I couldn't afford to restore her. As an older man in my forties with 5 kids hitting college age I sold my 68 Superbee for the same reason. Give me a taste of the Old DAys at a Price I can afford!

Re: New Challenger May Distress Muscle Car Auctions

I don't think people buy the old E bodies for performance handling, and I don't see why that would change with the release of the new Challenger. The old Challengers still have a style of their own. DCX has "fixed" all the things "wrong" with the old car, like the overhanging wheel wells, overly deep grill, and other things... but those are traits I really like about the old muscle car.

Don't get me wrong, I love the look of the new car, but the old car is still a nice car by itself. I believe the value of the classics may drop some... but I don't think the new car can fully replace the old car.
