General DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the new Dodge Challenger concept. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
I looked at a buddies Charger and the Gas tank is under the back seat forward of the rear axle. So I guess that pan in the trunk is only for the spare tire.
I assume it is there for safety reasons? This will make it likely that the gas fill is somewhat forward on the quarter panel. I hope they don't use the gas fill used on the current trucks. Looks ok on truck but wouldn't fit Challenger.
You won't see the B-Pillar. The 1/4 glass on the car will be fixed and extend to meet the door glass with a little rubber strip on the edge. So it will be covered by the glass. With the door glass up it will look clean. You just won't be able to get that all windows down clean look.
Is it my imagination or does the hood & fender angle look more sloped than the concept. Now to me that will really suck if it looks more wedge shaped from the side profile. That would really be a departure from the orig. car.

Now thats an interesting catch. Looking back at it I see what you mean. Hopefully its just an optical illusion.
Well, I believe it was Tommy LaSorda that said the production with be nearly indistinguisible from the Concept. We'll just have to be very patient with eyes crossed and hope it's true !!!!!!!! DCX/ Chrysler knows the responses from the public at autoshows and elsewhere and what they've told us . To stray from that/the truth would/could be a very disastrous scenario and at this stage, I highly doubt this would happen !
I think the slope is a trick of the eye. With all the different angles, and all the body panels not being on there.
It wouldn't make any sense for them to make a dramatic slope change anyway. Everything in the Dodge lineup pretty much has a slab, truck-like nose anymore, so there's no reason for them to get sporty now!

A direct quote from Team SRT and why I love MOPAR all wrapped up in one: The 5.7l engine was designed to be a balance of cost weight and power. The SRT 6.1L engine was designed to kick ass.
Geez, instead of saying "Awesome, we are seeing the Challenger on an assembly line" everyone is whining about the freakin B Pillar and crying about how they may just have to rethink their Challenger purchase.
I guess we arent allowed to voice our opinion, simply thank god, Ill take it however it comes. You cant tell me the 70 Challenger doesnt look much cleaner without the B pillar. That combined with the wierd pixar front end and it gets even farther away from the clean lines of the original.
Not too mention, whats wrong with wanting our cake AND eating it too?
Yes, it's too late to make a change. It may help some for body rigidity, but the main reason is to save weight and cost.
Thats what I'm counting on,less weight at every corner even less options, especially in the srt-8 version, then drop a 6.4l(392 520+hp) or bigger hemi into the beast, then I will go stoplight hunting!
