General DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the new Dodge Challenger concept. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
Let's remember that it is S/S not SS and if Dodge really released an S/S version it would mean more than any R/T / T/A / SRT ever did. S/S cars were factory monsters like we have not seen since.
Back in the day S/S cars could be had with Aluminum fenders, hoods, bumpers, and more. Don't forget monster motors and all different gears 4.86 and lower.
If we ever see anything close to what S/S truly means we will be blown away.
I see this car as more of a demonstration of what the public will be able to create themselves using Factory Modern Muscle and digging in to what is yet to come from Ma Mopar's parts bin.

I just saw a special on SPEED channel Classic Muscle Cars about the Mopar Super Stockers. Lets just say I have a new appreciation for these cars.
These were built back in the day before Muscle cars began taking off. This is also when the manufacturers were really into racing and making parts to make their brand the fastest. There was talk about how one could go and take one of these beast from a dealer and do some minor tweaking and have the fastest car around and win many a races with it.
Ah how the times were so easier and simplier back then...

fast and the furious ruined any chance of that ever happening

This is a key point that seems lost on a lot of people. The S/S barracudas were evil meatgrinder cars, beyond any mere street hemi R/T. Hopefully Dodge shows us the goods at SEMA, I wanna see fangs not just teeth.
