Thumbs up Now That Our New Challenger Is Official..

......I'm just curious too see now, what everyone feels the final production model looks like?! Anybody have any ideas? Will it hold true to the concepts? Or will it be changed in anyway? I myself am hoping for the stance to be lowered alittle(too lose the big wheel 4x4 look),lighter in weight as much as possible, and the biggest, meanest, baddest Hemi Terror(500+hp please!) that they can fit in between those gorgeous front inner fender wells! And I'm sure that top model will have some type of shaker,6-pk. or T/A hood scoop! That would be very cool! ps- Oh-yah, don't forget to put a gas filler cap on it!

Hey VP...

I'm hoping that it'll look like one of Doug (aka burningman) Schramm's initial 'Challenger' concept digital drawings from last year.

Re: Now That Our New Challenger Is Official..

Motor Trend had an interview in this month's issue with one of the guys in charge of the Challenger team (sorry, I don't remember his name, I was too busy drooling over the car). He pretty much said that the car would be true to the concept version, with the possible exception of slightly larger bumpers, and the lower rockers not rolling in as much. And the production version will have 20" wheels in back, not 21s like the concept car has. He didn't say it, but I personally believe they will tone the dash down some and use more existing LX components. But all in all, the concept is a production-ready car.

Boy, I don't want to start any more rumors than there already are, but I saw this today and thought everyone would want to know. It's coming from a reliable source, but take it for what it's worth. This would definitely hurt the looks IMO:

Re: Now That Our New Challenger Is Official..

If you look at schramms drawings, there is a "Charger like" B-pillar there in his drawings. If you paint the pillar black and keep it fairly small no one would hardly notice.

Re: Now That Our New Challenger Is Official..

what i want:

weight under 3700- pounds

price - under 30g's for a v8

hood scoop a must for a v8, carbon fiber hood would be great accessory.

at least some kind of spoiler as an option even if as tiny as the civics.

make the wheels in the back larger than the front to give it an agressive stance. make the wheels 20"+

keyless entry yada yada all standard.

and most importatntly for me at least 20 mpg in the city

Unless the B pillar is made of mythical space age glass (glasteel?) it will definitely break up the sleek look of the car. A B pillar has NO PLACE on this car.

Re: Now That Our New Challenger Is Official..

WTF, No. If it has a b pillar i will have my uncle do a little work on mine and make it with NO B PILLAR, WTF??? Come on.... And this better not have a big ass dodge crosshair grille on the front end when it comes out either, and it better still look like a challenger. The Mustang looked better as a concept. We will only be disapointed by the production version. Almost every concept has looked better than the real one. Be prepared for disapointment.
