Thumbs up Official Dodge Blog Site

We now have another way to get Challenger news- Dodge's official blog site at:

http://www.redletterdodge.com/

Here are the latest Q & As from the site:

CHALLENGER
Not surprisingly, the Challenger is a hot topic of conversation, which led to the following questions and even the occasional demanding chorus of chanting:

Q: davesanrn posted:
“I heard all the R/Ts have been pre-sold already. I hope that isn’t true.”
A: We can safely say that no R/Ts have been put up for sale yet. They are, as yet, unavailable for pre-sale in the 2008 model year. — RLD
Q: craig posted:
“is there a chance we will see the challenger body in NASCAR”
Our own Mike Accavitti offers this answer:
A: The decisions on what types of models, body styles and engines used in racing generally lies with in the sanctioning body of a race series. This is certainly the case with NASCAR. There are many considerations that go in to making those decisions, driver safety, cost of ownership, overall racing performance and fan interest being a few. As a manufacturer we have some input in to this process through discussions with race organizers. Dodge can not think of anything more exciting than watching Challengers taking the checkered flag on Sundays, but a lot more work and planning will be required to make that a reality. — Mike
Q: Mrkrissullivan posted:
“does anybody know about a convertable coming out?”
A: No. Nothing. We know nothing. Seriously, there’s not a whole lot we can help you with on this one except that convertible has an “i” right there instead of an “a”. (See? We told you we weren’t going to be much help.) — RLD
Q: Mrgtmustang posted:
“Was going to get a new 2008 GT but am waiting on the HEMI Challenger. I’ll be back to Dodge if it really comes out.”
A: We’re a bit biased, but hey…great comment. And, yes Mr. G.T. Mustang, we can safely say the Challenger is really coming out. In fact, here’s the exact moment it will be. — RLD
Q: UgottaloveaHEMI posted:
“Ok everyone together now. This will only work if we all do it together!!!
CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA CUDA!!!!!!!
Can you hear us down at the headquarters Chrysler.”
A: Not sure we can speak for everyone, but we heard you. — RLD

Re: Official Dode Blog Site

I'd be shocked if the Cuda didn't come to fruition. There will be too much demand for Chrysler to ignore.

I think the Cuda will get much more interest than the Challenger, which is real high as it is. If they did a beefed up 426 Cuda, oh my----

Re: Official Dodge Blog Site

If (and it's a big "if") the Challenger takes a significant bite out of Mustang sales and holds its own against the Camaro (I mean, the Mustang has been around for a long time, selling consistently for a long time and the Camaro has a powerhouse GM marketing team behind it), then I expect to see a whole bunch of options and models.

Like anything in business, if it turns out to be profitable, then the company can afford to start really offering some cool niche versions of the vehicle.

I think the new colors available on the Viper point to the company willing to take a few risks -- so I like where the future is heading. But it all hinges on sales.

That is a cool Hemi 'Cuda shirt. However, it does not show two Hemi cars. One is a 1971 Hemi 'Cuda, but the other is a 1970 AAR 'Cuda (340 six-pack).

Smile Re: Official Dodge Blog Site

redletterdodge.com has some new information.

Here is an excerpt:

"Check in often with us for the rest of these interviews, and for more on the upcoming 2008 Challenger. As for Micheal’s (Castiglione) thoughts on the ‘08 ? “They nailed it,” he said.

And…this just in…in response to every Challenger question you’ve asked we can say Dodge will be releasing official pricing and some specs for your enjoyment after Thanksgiving. So hang in there!
To be continued…"
