Well, my father has a '06 Magnum SXT with the same 3.5 Liter / 4-Speed Auto as the Challenger S/E. Personally, I was very surprised with its performance! Especially, the seat of the pants feel. As I never expected such low end get up and go from a 24 valve V-6! Also, don't forget it makes a good 250 hp out of the box. Add a cat-back exhaust and cold air induction and you could easily make another 25 hp for at least 275 hp. (and likely better gas mileage) Really, I love the clean look of the S/E too! Now just add nice wheels and tires.......or how every you want to make it your own and with the V-6 it won't bankrupt you either! Remember, the aftermarket is already big with the 300/Charger/Magnum out there! So, your options will be many even from the start. I live in sunny Florida an customized LX Cars are everywhere. Most of which are base cars and many even have 2.7 Liter Engines. Yet, who would know the difference except a few real car junkies..............My advice is the S/E will be the best choice for many!
Note: If, you are not sure about the power. Just take a 3.5L Charger for a test drive! It is slightly bigger and heavier than the Challenger. Yet, it would be very close to the performance of a Challenger S/E.......
