Re: Our Challenger is in "J" status

What exactly does "J" mean?

Will it be a showroom car or is it sold to a private buyer?

Re: Our Challenger is in "J" status

"J" means "Built ok'd" -- you can take a look at the unofficial dodge challenger registry (check my signature) for a list of people and their car statuses. There's a couple in J already. Just hover your mouse over the status code and a little rollover will popup and describe the status. Here's a link that sorts it so the "further along" in status show up first:

Unofficial Dodge Challenger Registry

You can then use the sort boxes if you want to further sort them.

Just curious about this. Our local dealer in South Texas said they had all 6 of their 08 Challengers sold. The dealer I stopped at in Fort Worth said they sold all 10 of theirs. The dealership in Austin said they sold all 8 of theirs. Well, if the are building less than 10k units how is every dealer going to be getting 6-10 of them??

Re: Our Challenger is in "J" status

Our large local SRT dealer locally recieves only 2 and they move SRT8's up the yang.A dealer in chicago Orland area is only getting 2 as well and they sell vipes like candy there. Many deposits have been taken but I bet not matching the ammount of cars coming in.

One of those 08's was supposed to be mine but there is a salesman,a salesmanager, and Asst sales manager who all wasted my time thru 5 visits to only give my car to the highest bidder.
Like Id ever do business unless it was dealer direct again and I had 45K in cash to throw at them at the time.
I do hope this dosnt start to happen with all these guys who waited so long for their 08's.I have been hearing 25 a day have been rolling off the line ,but that was here on this forum I wonder what resumespeed has to say ..
Lets hope we see some of these cars actually showing up soon to there new homes Id be going nuts ..
Hell I have 4 months to wait I will have to just put this all out of my head till late July.

Re: Our Challenger is in "J" status

Man I hope your wrong. 6400 US cars at 25 a day, that's um 256 days of production. Now I'm not the greatest with math, but I think there's less days than that until August.....
