Petition for Hemi Orange option in 09 SRT

As someone with an orange 08 on the way it's kinda cool that since we didn't get the six spd we get the orange as an exclusive SRT color. Having said that, it's not cool that 09s are not getting any high impact colors, actually the first 09s are kinda getting screwed. If they made orange in 09 I wouldn't care, actually I might buy a matching six spd. On a side not if I was the guy who bought number 43 I'd be be really angry.

They might be waiting to do a blow out in 2010 (maybe 392). The SRT has to get more HP to stay competitive right now, and with the R/T getting really close they need a bigger HP gap between the two.

You guys need to petition Chrysler HARD for high-impact colors on the R/Ts.

It's inconcievable that they're producing this car without offering Plum Crazy, Subline, Go ManGo, Top Banana, B5 Blue, and Torred.

Let me first say I have put off buying a new car for 3 years in anticipation of owning a new SRT Challenger. Now that I have learned (much to my surprise ) that apparently Hemi Orange is not going to be an option for us 09 SRT fans, I am truly disappointed. I can't believe it is a R/T option and not SRT. I was unable to get an 08 due to limited availability and dealers markup and think it is a huge mistake to not have this option for the SRT line. I had my heart set on this color and it is truly saddened that it is not currently listed as an option for the 09 SRT line.

Consequently I started a forum thread to show how there are others with the same feelings. It can be viewed here.

I agree with your petition as well but I stayed a little more focused on just the one color in hopes they could make the slight modification to the rules.

It's just not right to offer the Charger in the classic colors and not do the same for the Challenger. I am not sure why you would wait to offer these. It would definitely grab attention to the brand to have high impact colors on the streets.

If people petition this shouldn't you also petition to have the SRT "stripe" be carbon as opposed to black in 2009 as well? The 2008's were a limited run and should be treated that way.

By that logic, that would also mean that black and silver should be discontinued because they were offered in 08 also, and even more 'limited' than the orange. Now while I do understand the 08 guys want the limited-ness of being the only ones to get HEMI Orange, its not fair to us guys who were waiting it out for the manual.

I can understand your point. Heck, I am in your boat as well --- waiting for a manual and possibly the 6.4L and am a bit disappointed there is no Hemi orange in the SRT for 2009. I just think the 08's should be special somehow. Just MHO.

Yes, I tend to agree. I think what we are all about to experience and live through is quite similar to the 1st run Challengers :I mean the OEM 1970 D-O-D-G-E Challengers. Some as most know were equipped with that legendary BadBoy ; the 426 cubic inched HEMI. Well, again as most of us know those few rare models [ in fact most any 1970-74 models] are drawing lots of money.Even the Chrysler Corporation has documented this "Happening" since they decided to bring back this true American Icon in their literature ! Well, this is what is happening now,as Chrysler through their DODGE Division has created a current frenzied era through a limited run of America's Top Model :the 2008 SRT8 with that "neato" color Hemi Orange Pearl/metallic !Again most of us or those who don't have enough cash and/or a big secret stash have to be "onlookers" in a way ,almost as if 38 years have passed and we y'all are sittin' at Barrett-Jackson's seeing a new looking Challenger being auctioned off : again for big $$$$ !!!!!!!

Yeah, but a lot of SRT's are being bought as investments, which will lead to a large supply of them down the road, lowering their value.

So I would say buy which ever Challenger you want to enjoy, then snap up a Hemi orange SRT in 6 years, and swap a manual in.
