Question Protect Your Paint

I have been thinking about how I will protect the paint on my new Challenger.

Currently I use Turtle Wax (with carnuba). I have read that collectors use Zaino Wax to obtain mirror finishes on their show cars. The cost of the polish is $14.95 per bottle and is enough to do 20 waxings. On Zaino's website, they state that each waxing is good for 6 months.

Has anyone tried it?

Re: Protect Your Paint

I fell into the Zaino hype when I owned my Viper. I now use Meguiar's brand products. Zaino is good but I disagree with some of Sal's fundamentals regarding application. He suggests using dawn dish soap - I think that is one of the worst things a person can use on a vehicle.

Re: Protect Your Paint

I'm a Zaino nut. Dawn is only used initially to take all the crap off. On the other site I visit a lot (Begins with LS1 and ends with GTO) people actually ran their own tests. One in particular used 4 different brands on a hood in a tic-tac-toe pattern. It included Mequiar's, Zaino and two others that I don't rememeber. After a few months they had people look and touch and pick out which quadrant was best. Zaino won almost unanimously.
