Question Protect Your Wheels!

The Challenger SRT has expensive forged aluminum wheels.

From looking at various photos and the option codes, it seems that Dodge does not provide locking lug nuts. Is this correct?

If not, the guys on the chargerforums highly recommend Gorilla Wheel Locks.

If the forged wheels cost $600 ea. and the tires $270 (uninstalled), the SRT is riding on almost $4,000. That's why good locks are needed!

Also, if you include the Brembo brakes, sloted rotors, and Bilstein shocks, you are talking big $$$.

Re: Protect Your Wheels!

this is a very good point, as my friend's SRT was found on blocks one day when he got ready to leave work lol. That would kill me if it happened.

Gorrilla does make good lugs, i have a set on my charger, not locking nuts though, i just got the standard lugs. Which is something I recommend, because if you plan on taking your tires off more than once you may want to swap the lug nuts. Reason being is that from the factory they are the cheapo's with the tin cap over them, they get stripped real easy. So to bypass that, its wise to go ahead and get a solid lug nut.

Re: Protect Your Wheels!

Gorilla also makes a matched set of 20, so you can put a locking lug on every stud. I have those on my Charger. If some guy is hoss enough to get past 20 locking lugs, he can have the damn wheels!

Re: Protect Your Wheels!

lol. thats hilarious. That would get kind of pricey for lugs though, but at $4k worth wheels and tires it may be worth the money

Some may see this as overkill , but I think JonW has the right Idea.

Re: Protect Your Wheels!

definately, it would take ALOT of time and effort to remove those wheels lol. Not many people would be willing to try that.

Not too expensive. A set of 24 goes for $68.99.
