question about MSO.......???

just got my car a couple of days ago and man am i happy to finally drive a challenger. i love everything about it. i am not from the USA so i am going to be shipping this car back hom soon. only thing in the way is the title.

i am not familiar with this country's laws so i am gonna ask some questions that may sound stupid. when i got my car, the dealer told me that i need to wait for the MSO from chrysler which takes a couple of days after the car is sold. i cat get a title without this paper. keep in mind that i paid cash for this car and not finance or lease so i dont see why i cant get full ownership of the vehicle the same day i received the car. I was told that i need to wait but now i am told that this may take up to 2-3 weeks. has this happened to anyone? if so then how long did it take till you received the mso?

another question i have, is when i have the MSO, how long does it take to get a title. I lived i boston, MA from 99-02 and i never heard of a mso when i bought my trans am in 99 or my ford thunderbird in the beginning of '02. when i got my chevy ssr truck from indiana, i was never told about the MSO so now with the car that i have waited for the most, travelled to this country all those air miles just to get, and finally when i have it, something like this gets in the way.

i am lost here and bummed out cause i want to travel and see other states but i cant cause this dealership is just unreliable.

if anyone can help, i would really appreciate it. just knowing that may of you received their MSO quick would be enough to make me happy

Re: question about MSO.......???

here ya go, How to get Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MSO/MCO)?

it looks as though its a pretty common thing when you are exporting a vehicle. Otherwise you would just get the title.

i totally misunderstood what the MSO is. this makes a lot more sense to me. I got all my questions answered, thank you very much
the dealer made evrything sound so easy, i was even told that the car will leave the US before the 4th of july weekend. they knew all along that this would happen.

Re: question about MSO.......???

No prob. I wasnt sure what it was either, thats why i looked it up lol. Seems painless, but possibly time consuming.

exactly! time consuming is exactly the problem. and what's worse is that i drove this car for 3 days and i dont want to return it to or hand it over to the shipping company anymore
it kills knowing that i will wait for 2 months until i get it back hom to my country

i am from bahrain. but i am currently in st louis, MO
i have shipped a few cars to bahrain before from the states but i have never done all this on my own. last time i exported a car was from lingenfelter which in indiana but they are used to these things so they knew what they were doing and i had to wait for 3 months which was a pain but hey atleast the outcome was worth it

when that video was made, it had 447rwhp and 458 TQ with a 427 motor but now its got a 454 custom and making 609rwhp and 617 TQ completely N/A

here's a vid before the 454 project. the car is almost done, just getting a custom radiator from becool done cause its gonna need all the cooling it can get.

yes actually it was either i pay $3000 and wait 50 days for the car or pay $16,000 and i get the car by plane in three days
i chose the 50 days plan

Re: question about MSO.......???

Wow, thats some good numbers for a truck. Very impressive. How much is the custom radiator going to cost? Id like to get one later on, after i mod the challenger heavily.

Id say the 50 day plan is a wise choice lol. Thats a huge difference in price lol. How does it get there? boat then truck, or does it go by train?
