Re: question on challenger tires

Have you had the noise since you took delivery? Or has it become louder with more miles ?

Re: question on challenger tires

This sounds like the same issue that I have on my Chrysler Town & Country. I'm taking it in for service tomorrow to figure out what the squeel is.

Re: question on challenger tires

Is the steering wheel straight on your car? The reason for the question is I suspect a toe-in problem. Maybe when the vehicle was bound down for transport, the suspension didn't like it. Anyway, if your dealer has a good tech, he'll find it and fix it.

Re: question on challenger tires

I am suspecting a bearing in the wheels or drivetrain. Go directly to service, do not pass go.

Re: question on challenger tires

My GM 4X4 had the same issues, worse on certain types of roads kinda like you say ( some of the roads if you look close are not a tight smooth finish, this pulls the tire), was told tires, drive shaft etc.

Jacked up the front end and LF tire felt loose when trying to tilt tire up and down., lugs were tight, found bearing was bad. Most all new rides have sealed bearings, not sure on the new Challenger what type of bearing, could even be loose if it is not a sealed unit? But sure sounds like a bearing, or seriously out of toe...unless it is a tire seperation starting?

So I replace the bearing $345 later for the part and no more noise. You could not tell the bearing was bad when out, felt smooth, no play etc. But a 1/64th of play with big tires and man you get a lot of tire wobble etc.

Get that baby in asap so not to chew the tires up..good luck..let us know what the fix was..

I have the upgraded performance tires and do not have the problem you are describing. If I were you I would take the car in for an allignmentment check and close inspection of each tire. Are you noticing any vibration or seeing any signs of abnormal tire wear.

Also, after driving can you feel one wheel / hub hotter than the others. This might indicate a bad bearing location.
