R/T functional hood scoops or not

Hey guys, I noticed on a couple of member pics, bwbike's to be exact, that the R/T hood scoops were plugged.

When I was at my dealer in November to place my order, they had a 28F R/T automatic on the floor with functional scoops. I know this for sure since I put my hand into the scoop (under the hood) to confirm it was open.

Can you R/T owners confirm if yours are closed or open? Did CLLC just decide to start including them?

Mine are closed. I thought only the SRT models had functional/open scoops

That's what I thought too, until I saw the R/T in the showroom. That's the only Chally I've sat in, so I don't have any others to go by.

Re: R/T functional hood scoops or not

The SRT scoops can be put in an R/T hood.

Re: R/T functional hood scoops or not

All RT scoops are plugs. There is a hole under the hood but the front black plastic scoops are plugs. I purchased the SRT scoops that go all the way through the hood ad angle down those holes on the underside of the hood. They were $44 a piece. 5 minute install.

That's my expectation. It's possible they were added by the dealer.

Re: R/T functional hood scoops or not

From under the hood, they look like they are open because there is a hole there, but the R/T and SE inserts are solid. When you install the SRT inserts there will be a rubber (or soft plastic) extension sticking out of the hole under the hood to direct the air.
