Rear Tailight

OK, so IMHO the rear taillight is one of my favorite features of the new challenger, but apparently it is causing some stir as many people really don't like it. I think it really captures the essence of the classic 70's rear end shape with a very unique and original design. What is everybody's opinion? Also, I am wondering... what is it constructed of? Is it some sort of LED or fluorescent? Also, how will the turn signals work? Anybody know?

Here's what I'd prefer:

I personally think this is more muscle car than the light bar. The square tail lights blend better with the square (rectangular) exhaust tips.
BUT that's just MY opinion.
I agree. I too prefer the 72-74 Challenger's rear taillamp configuration as compared to the single light bar currently displayed on the rear of the concept model...it's just too gaudy for my taste. I'd also still like to see a '71 'cuda grille/rear taillamp option as well.

Re: Rear Tailight

I like the concept's taillight. I hope they make it LED - make that thing REALLY stand out. Remember the 70 Challenger had this type of taillight long before some forgettable 80's Buick Somerset (actually the Century in the early to mid-90s had something similar for awhile too), so if anyone is ripping anyone's idea off it's GM and not DCX - they had it first.

Of course I like the 72-74 taillights also, but I've never been crazy about the 71's taillights. - they just never seem to work as well as the other years for some reason IMHO.

Thumbs up Re: Rear Tailight

I Like both styles.... but I prefer the 08 concept or 70 style tailight over anything else.

Hey, it's cool. I remember seeing the Buick Somerset when it came out in the mid-80s and when I saw its taillight the first thing I thought of was a 70 Challenger.

Re: Rear Tailight

I like the bar tail lights, on both maybe they can do aftermarket for the different years, or they might just evolve it into those years.

Re: Rear Tailight

I like the tail light. And I also like the round head lights. It's what makes the car not look like every other car out there.

One thing I would change though is the dumb Dodge logo of the ram on the nose. Write D O D G E across the front. Or at least install the ram in a way that I can pull it off and pitch it.

Re: Rear Tailight

In my opinion, the only thing I NEED to see on the rear end of this car is a T/A style deck lid spoiler!!!!!!!!!

I agree. I want a car that turns heads and makes everyone question, what's that?
