A reminder to Challenger drivers.

Yesterday on my way into work I finally saw another orange Challenger... and I almost regret it. It was pretty much stop and go traffic but this SRT was driving like mad cutting people off and tailing.

Everyone needs to remember that there are very few Challengers on the road and eyes will be on us. It will only take a few bad drivers to give Challenger drivers a bad name.

Watch it and don't drive crazy on public roads when there are too many people around and never be overly aggressive.

Thanks guys!!

Lol, thought you were talking about me for a second there
You are right though, driving a bright azz orange muscle car weaving in and out of traffic pissing people off can give people the wrong impression. I find that driving the speed limit or a few mph's under gets me alot more attention than zooming by people doing 10 over. You just cruise in the right lane and watch passengers in passing cars eye rape your challenger

Most people that see the Challenger for the first time think it's a new Camero anyhow.

funny I've seen the same thing.. Usually they know it isn't a camaro when I get out and DON'T have a mullet..

just joking.

But that is a good bit of advice. I know in canada they are very rare... and the silver ones for 08 were all but nothing for numbers..

I do like to imbibe in vulgar displays of power but am acreful not to do things like cut people off or be a menace on the roads..

Re: A reminder to Challenger drivers.

Driving home from work yesterday, a fairly late model mustang GT was driving like an idiot.. weaving in and out.. going to the far right lane to pass other cars...
Admittedly.. he may have been reacting to my Challenger and felt threatened.
I just let him blow on by.. thinking "yeah.. smoke out them hidden CHP's for me"

Re: A reminder to Challenger drivers.

I usually drive very moderately. If the SL is 55, and Interstate traffic is doing 65, I'll be the one doing 62 in the middle lane.

I was coming home from picking up 7 qts of Mobil 1 0W40 and a K&N oil filter for the first oil change (no, the indicator hasn't called for it yet- just want to be ready when it does), and as I get on a long sweeping exit ramp from I87 to I90, a black Charger R/T (just like my wife's) climbs on my rear bumper. There's no traffic in the other lane of the two lane exit ramp, so I figure, he doesn't want to pass - he feels threatened and he wants to play. So I played with him.....but not for long.
Normally, 60 mph will get the tires to start howling around this ramp in most cars, but the F1 tires on the SRT grab like a price tag on a new DVD. I almost - ALMOST - felt bad dusting his @$$ around that curve - only because he was a fellow Moparian. But he seemed intent on being humiliated and wouldn't back off my rear end at normal speeds after me looking back at him the rearview mirror a few times - I KNOW he saw me doing that. The ramp is about 3/4 miles long, 2 lanes wide, and is a constant left radius with about a 30' drop in elevation midway through it. I was doing 85 toward the end of the ramp as it merges onto I90 East ......... and he was about 200 yards behind. I let off when I was merging with I90 traffic due to a few close exit off and on ramps in a short distance - there's always congestion there. He caught up about a quarter mile after, looked over, and sped off as I resumed my usual 62 mph in the middle lane.
Did I mention the F1's didn't bark, howl or squeal one bit? Josie acted like she was on rails - solid as a rock. What a car!!!

So in response to the original thread, I agree 95%...... but there's always going to be someone who tries to push your buttons, and the only way to fix that is to dust 'em (even if they're in a Mopar).

Re: A reminder to Challenger drivers.

THe only time I open mine up is when i have a clear shot, no BS driving, i hate that. I do hate all these damn cars trying to race me though. Every so often i dust them if they keep riding next to me looking over to see if I'm game. More of a glance over at them, and i punch it, then they are far behind, and a after thought.

My insurance is at a good price, not about to F that up to prove anything. But it's hard not to open the car up, it jut wants to perform, and my foot just wants to help the car out.

Re: A reminder to Challenger drivers.

Dodge, Ford, GM, or foreign..if you're prone to drive like that, you will drive like that regardless of make and/or model. I could care less if someone doesn't like my car or, by association, me just because they saw one driven by someone else who was being an @$$.
