Sales Tax
Does anyone know where I can find my sales tax rate. Im trying to figure up how much I will have to pay on this car. I am buying it in Ohio and registering it in Alabama, so I have no idea as to how that will work. Any advice would be great.

Ohio should NOT be charging you sales tax on this vehicle, that is done once you register it in your home state, Go on to your states motor vehicle site for you tax rate and registration fees.

here is the website for all of my states motor vehicle info. I can find anything regarding the sales tax on there. I found the title fees, and registration fees.

I bought two cars in Ohio and registered them in a different state, and I did not pay tax to the dealer either time. I had to pay at the DMV when I registered them. It may be the same as the standard sales tax rate.

Wow! Florida is 6.5% (my county has a .5% tax) to the first 5,000 then 6.0% of the rest!

We pay the taxes when we get tags here in OK. I called yesterday, and they gave me the number off of the purchase price of the car. I think it was around 1600 for everything, dunno how that compares elsewhere though.

2580 on 43000 @ 6% Ouch! I also hate the idea of paying tax on the gas guzzler tax!
