Re: Should everyone have a number now?

What's your status code? If you're not even at C you may be in trouble at this point. If you're at least in C I'd wager you may have hope yet.

Re: Should everyone have a number now?

He said something about D status. I told him to get moving and get my info, or I might be able to get it cheaper elsewhere.

Re: Should everyone have a number now?

If you're in D you *should* have a VIN so he may just be slacking on getting you that information. But heck, you're definitely right about going elsewhere. Unless you really have your heart set on an '08 you might just want to spring for an '09 for the potential benefits if you'd pickup a car with limited slip + 6-speed manual.

If you want to find out more, go to Chrysler LLC: Corporate Website - Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Chrysler Financial, Mopar and GEM and give them your VON number and if a vin has been issued they will give it to you. It is also a good way to verify if your name is on the order and the dealer is not blowing smoke up your butt.

Re: Should everyone have a number now?

I think he means to call Chrysler direct and give them your VON. I doubt they have a generic car-tracker online -- especially if it was a big deal to offer a mini-tracker for '08 Challengers.

Re: Should everyone have a number now?

i would hold drop the 08 order and go for the 09 myself. The limited edition status IMO is not worth it

Re: Should everyone have a number now?

Meh, if you're paying MSRP and don't care about limited slip (Versus the '08 brake-lock differential) or the 6-speed manual there's no real reason to drop the '08 order.

I wasn't going to be able to pay MSRP so that was reason enough alone for me to drop my '08 in favor of an '09 -- minimum I was going to be able to get was $5k over MSRP.

Though either way, If you go to an '09 I wouldn't drop the '08 order until you can get a confirmed order in for an '09 with VON + BG/BX status. It's shaping up to be a tight squeeze on the '09 SRT8s already.
