SRT sightings on Hwy 401

While on my way through Ontario yesterday, I had some close encounters with westbound SRTs. The carriers are on the road, and I came across two while on Highway 401 west between Toronto and Windsor. My wife preferred the black, so I may have to rethink getting silver.

I grabbed some shots and tried to avoid running into one of the carriers as I gawked and drooled. Sorry for the crappy quality:

Re: SRT sightings on Hwy 401

I saw them from both sides, the rear, and finally passed because the truck was going slow. My wife liked the black, thought that the silver was boring, and did not like the hemi orange. I'll always have a soft spot for the hemi orange, as it was my favorite color of the 71 Charger RT back then.

I'm driving back through tomorrow, but they will be traveling in the opposite direction. Seeing them in the flesh definitely made me want the car more. I had planned to wait until next Spring to let the demand ease, but now I'm not so sure. Here are a couple more shots, but not as good:

Re: SRT sightings on Hwy 401

They are non-stop going west on the 401. If you are heading west there is a good chance you may be able to catch a stopped trailer at the Mcdonalds (that are across the highway from each other)..its a popular rest stop and a buddy of mine has seen them in there many times. One time w/ about 8-10 people standing around taking pictures

Re: SRT sightings on Hwy 401

Actually, there were nine on the carrier. It's hard to see, but there was a black one on the bottom row, tucked in the middle.

The pic with the two black SRTs on the back of the carrier was taken at the rest area. The trucks were in the back, and I probably should have walked all the way over to get get some better photos.

I'm going east on 401 tomorrow, so I expect to be counting carriers more than getting quality pictures.
