Well, with all due respect to your/this general manager :I believe he's very ,very mistaken. Listen, as has been stated here numerous times, most of these dealership personnal have not a clue what's really going on and/or are bs'ers ! If you've been regularly reading all of the threads and posts here @ Challengertalk you would know/realize that that is not true ! Heck, if you want, you could even call up Chrysler or go to their website ; www.dodge.com/challenger and you'll read about the All New 2008 Dodge Challenger out around April as an '08 model or go ask Dr. Z ! !!

Are you sure he didn't tell you that, just to get you to buy the Charger?

Re: start time

Hmmm, the official Dodge sight says, "....announced the production of the 2008 Dodge Challenger. .... Feb 6, 2008"

http://www.dodgechallengercountdown.com/

... of course Feb 2008 is essentially only what, 4-6 months from the time many manufacturers start releasing their 2009 models.

Well, your 'shortened' quote seems to be taken out of context ! Feb.^th is when the production version will be at the Chicago Auto Show !! Here, try this statement from Dodge; which as you must know was announced over 10 months ago on July 1st :Daytona Beach, Fla. - Chrysler Group President and CEO Tom LaSorda today announced that Dodge Challenger will return to production after a nearly 35-year hiatus. The all-new Dodge Challenger will debut as a 2008 model in calendar-year 2008.

Re: start time

Here is Dr Z's response from a few days ago:

The all-new Dodge Challenger will make its debut as a 2008 model, in calendar-year 2008. True to both its historical and modern concept car roots, the 2008 Dodge Challenger will be offered as a two-door, HEMI V-8 powered, manual-transmission, and rear-drive coupe. Currently, we do not have pricing information, full specifications or anticipated productions numbers. Also a waiting list has yet to be established for the vehicle.

Re: start time

The first Mustang was a 64 1/2, wasn't it? They will probably release 09's 6months after the 08's start arriving at the dealers.
