Re: The Summer of 1969

Awesome roll back write up, I was 10 the summer of 69 and pumped gas at a Texaco on the Jersey Shore. I remember vivdly all the performance cars of the era as the guys who I worked for had a garage full of them, the Chargers were my favorite. A local in Avalon, NJ had a 69 Charger Daytona that summer and I remember filling it up with gas and just melting to sit it in, one day he let me and to this day will never forget it....as the summers passed I watched the car get older, painted, then sitting behind the station rusting before it was rollbacked out to the junk yard in Dennisville where it was crushed, I found out about its fate from the junk yard owner who told some stories about the performance cars of the era and how many there were.....I still hear stories about that thing today......anyway this morning driving into work I saw my first 2008 Challenger, it was Black and I almost turned around to go chase him down!!...awesome post........
