General DiscussionThis section contains general discussion about the new Dodge Challenger concept. If it does not fit into a more specific area, it probably belongs in here. (Dodge Challenger General Discussion)
DCX says it wants to remain the "top dog" when the new Camaro and GTO are released in 2010.
If that is the case, what is stopping it from supercharging the 6.1 HEMI?
I was watching an episode of "Two Guys Garage" on cable TV. They took a 2005 Mustang GT and added a supercharger without much difficulty. The "bolt-on" was worth 100 hp! After that, they dyno-tuned the Stang and revised the settings on the ECU (i.e., fuel curve, timing, etc.). This dramatically improved the hp and torque curves. The changes were good for another 70 hp. Their Stang now had 500 hp and 490 ft. lbs. of torque.
DCX needs to look at this type of hp/torque modication or the new Challenger may be the one in the Stang's rear view mirror!!
Well,in that case I don't think there's anything to worry about ! DCX has plenty more tricks ' up their sleeves' !!! Also, just in case there are any " Stangs & /or 'Maros " around DCX can just bring this 900 HP beast out
Well, in that case: I think Ted can bring this 900 HP beast out
Well, you could keep your business within Challengertalk.com and talk to Ted over @ the MoparSupercenter...he might be able to fix you up with this set-up !
Or you might be able to hook this up ; although I'm not sure if it can just be 'bolted' on or manipulated to be compatible with the 6.1L >> The Lysholm Screw Compressor : which by the way fits onto this baby >> http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPi...enigsegg&o=CCR

The mustang has to put a supercharger on it (4.6L) to get that kind of hp and torque.....where as the hemi (6.1L) can get do it without the power adder....

There is no doubt that the 6.1 HEMI is the superior engine.
However, it is still 500 hp vs 425 hp (supercharged Stang vs Challenger). DCX must either supercharge the 6.1 or give us the 6.4 to stay ahead of the pack.

after hearing the audio clip of the 6.4L in the S/S concept there is little doubt in my mind that will be one scary a$$ motor even in detuned state. The only place I've heard anything that sounds like that is on a race track.
