Re: Are they ever going to tell us YES or no?

I'm not saying I have connection or anything like that, but I think we are still a ways off til we hear it directly from DCX. I'm thinkin' end of Q3. Sorry for the rain but at least the flowers will grow.

Some have as AllPar.com taken the Canadian memo as word.

Pretty much what ^ said. I'm still going to have to find something to fill the void from now until the SRT version see's production though, so I'm leaning towards a Charger SRT-8

Re: Are they ever going to tell us YES or no?

I have seen new DCX commercials promoting cylinder mangement systems that will run 300+ hp R/T models as 4 cylinders on the hwy with power on demand to switch to all 8 when called for. That is the key to avoiding gas guzzling taxes and the like if they could only do it on the srt 8/ 10 models. That would be awesome 400+ hp and 26 mpg.....

I think their assumption is that SRT buyers aren't particularly concerned about fuel economy. Although, with current gas prices, I find it hard to believe that ANYBODY is NOT concerned with fuel economy!

Not sure what all goes into that system, but it is nice. Definitely could possibly help them sell a few more cars (especially if they could convince everyone that it really didn't affect performance negatively).

I'd say we have a while to wait before they'll officially announce anything. Gotta get all their ducks in a row. Imagine if they announced they were doing it, just because all us hardcore fans wanted it so bad, then the bean counters found a way to kill it. Talk about a bad press and backlash... there'd be a revolt!

I read in Motor Trend that they can't put the MDS on the SRT-8's because the cams are too big for the computer programming to work properly. I don't know if it's impossible to do, or if they think it's just too expensive to make a new program for the 6.1 liter.
