Those who already have MyGIG - Zune compatability?

Long story short I have acquired a 30GB Zune for free. I know the MyGIG system is compatible with iPods via the USB port (and obviously anything can simply play music through the Aux In plug). However, does anyone know if a Zune will hook up via the USB plug on the MyGIG and permit for the transfer of music from the Zune to the MyGIG Hard Drive?

I have an archos 30gb and it interfaces easily with any computer but I am also hoping my archos is able to work the same as an i-pod.
It should not be a problem at all to use with the my gig system. As I also intend to use my portable as a storage for more music and video.

I like the thing so much I own two one is a 2005 the other is new and both work like a charm on my kids play station 3 so my gig should be compatible with it as well.

i would think so, but will the zune allow that to happen. I know with my ipod and iphone, you cant take the music off of it and put it on a new device. You have to put the music onto the ipod from the computer, if that makes sense. I think the main purpose of the interface is to listen to the music through your stereo off of your mp3 player's hardrive, and not transfer it to the mygig hard drive

I wonder if it'll interface with an iphone like an ipod? I know my xbox360 wont see the iphone and play the music off it like an ipod.

I dont see why not. My car now works with my iPhone. So does my XBox, you may need an update

That is weird, I heard somewhere that if you put it in airplane mode it'll work like an ipod through a dock

I would think as long as it operates as an mp3 player with all the codecs all should be good to interface..

if u put it in airplane mode the phone is basically an iPod touch, but it will work while in normal mode as well. The phone call will interupt your music. Not to mention when the phone searches for a signal, it will make that buzzing noise in your speakers. Aka interference. I would recommend airplane mode when using it, but its not required. Thats the only difference between the iPhone and iPod touch

True -- that slipped my mind about the design of portable music players not permitting for pulling music OFF the device and thus going from Portable Player -> MyGIG HD is not possible. Nonetheless, it'd be cool if it supported connectivity over USB such that it could read the song titles onto the LCD display in the car and all that.

I'll have to check into it further.
