Wink Transmission Problems

I have been reading about problems the owners of Hemi Chargers have had with the Autostick transmission- specifically shudders caused by defective housings.

It makes you wonder if the smart thing to do is to wait until 2009 until DCX works out all of the bugs in its vehicles.

Well unless this AutoStick Transmission is/would be the same one used in the Challenger; then it's irrelevent ! If the defective housings is due to some type of metal fatigue and/or is made from metal ; then it is the Metalurgists responsibilities [ and fault ] as well as DCX products' quality control personnel. Maybe DCX doesn't have the right people doing the testing of vehicles ? I will like to volunteer/offer my services to DCX/The Dodge Boys and be given a test Dodge Challenger to thoroughly test said Challenger: in order to determine the integrity of the unit as a whole in all weather conditions and road surfaces , including [ but not limited to] doing multiple "donut" manuvers { in nice ,fluffy snow } !!!

Re: Transmission Problems

It is absolutely in-excusable that they can't make an automatic transmission that is reliable. Almost everyone that complains of problems with DCX cars has transmission problems, myself included. This really gets my GTO!!!!

Re: Transmission Problems

I haven't been reading up on the SRT forums lately but are you talking about the 1-2 WOT shift problem? If so, this is due to the limiter kicking in during the shift and HAL bogging the engine. I believe this has already been fixed via software upgrade.

Could be a different problem that you are speaking of though...

That's correct. DCX has a flash to correct the shift problem.

There is also a recall for the "O" ring seal.
