Uconnect Web

So my wife enjoys bragging about her Audi Q7's ability to be a wifi hotspot for up to 9 computers/ipads/etc..

but if i read the brochure correctly the 2012 SRT8 comes with uconnect web, which does the same thing, turns your car into a wifi hotspot?

You need to buy the Uconnect module ($400ish) and then get a subscription. I only know what I have read, I don't have it installed.

Here is the subscription website; https://uconnectweb.autonetmobile.com/

I ordered the uconnect web module with my MOPAR bucks back when they were doing the promotion in 2010. I really didn't look into it too much because it was essentially a free item. When I got it from the parts department I saw that it does not get integrated into the car using the uconnect feature in the radio but rather just required a 12V source. From there it uses cellular service to give you a hotspot. The service was about $30/month and does exactly the same thing as tethering using your smart phone. I never did hook it up because I don't need another subscription and I sold it on eBay.
