Re: Us Auto Sales - June 2006

I love the monthly update. Fascinating stuff.

And like I said before, the numbers on the Impala make my ass ache. Maybe it's the fact that I worked at Avis and only drove the "rental" versions of Impalas and Malibus (they were close to base level - but they were still brand new), and they just made me ill.

But, to each his own. At least Dodge owns the minivan category...

Re: Us Auto Sales - June 2006

Well these figures are interesting. When I do travel across the U.S. when I'm working, I see new and used car lots all over :their lots Chocked full ! I may be wrong but I just feel like the U.S. has an extreme Glut of vehicles [ almost ironic in that at least 50 % of Americans have an extreme Gut as well : not sure why there's a connection !!! ] .My brother and I test drove the VW Toureg about 18 months ago...it was terribly underpowered.due to it being overly heavy as well : plus the steering wheel like all or most modern vehicles is way too fat ! Too bad I don't have one of my 1970 Dodge Challengers ,especially when going long distances..as the thin wheel is great for a driver's hand fatigue ! I hope DCX reviews the Concept's and makes it more like the fingertip control one in the original Challengers .

Great stuff! Just curious I didn't see Jag in your numbers. Are they rolled under Fords?
