I am in no way defending Vortech, but this is one good reason to use a shop/dealer rather than deal directly with the manufacturer. Most manufacturers are setup to supply products to their dealers/shops and do not typically deal with the public. If you buy from a good shop they should be there to answer your questions and concerns and get the answers from the manufacturer if necessary. In many times the shops have done more installs on customer cars than the manufacturers actually have done, and know them better.
I wouldn't want this to disuade anyone from buying the Vortech system, as the system itself is great, I would just as wandering Scot suggested...buy from a distriubutor that specializes in these cars and can answer your questions easily.

I don't agree that a manufacturer should not be able to take care of a customer issue. Whether an individual or a dealer, we're all customers of Vortech.

I do however agree with your second statement.

The Vortech system is a good kit.
I'm happy with mine so far, but buy from a reputable / knowledgeable distributor, even if you're doing the install yourself, and turn to them for help if needed.
