Question Weather Dilemna

A weather dilemna for all Challenger owners who live in the northern states-

If you don't get your Challenger until mid-winter, how much will you drive it if the roads are full of snow, ice and salt?

I want to keep my Challenger in showroom condition but, after waiting almost two years' for the car, it will be hard to restrain myself and not drive it!

If you do drive it in bad weather, how will you keep it clean? Brushless car wash?

Re: Weather Dilemna

Up here we hibernate the classics through the winter, salty road spray being the threat.
Although the provinces use less salt than before we still have black ice, white outs, and some idiots who think they can roll on all seasons. 425 hp is just a waste in these conditions. But from April to November we drive twice as fast to catch up! HAHA!

Re: Weather Dilemna

Yep about all you can do in NW WY as well. By late august early sept we get out 1st snow, then weather is up and down decent sometimes in 60s for highs. Fo sure by Hallowine it will be 0 or -5,-10 etc below 0. Last year Nov-April sucked but a typical winter here is Oct-to May.

So it will be parked in doors. Maybe if there is a decent day here and there it can venture outside, but then the roads are dirty and I do not want to pile up the under-carriage with mud etc..

Washing the car is not possible in the winter out doors, so you need to keep it clean, then maybe wet rags, shammy, wax etc and a car cover..

Or if iwas rich move to AZ for the winter..

Re: Weather Dilemna

True about the SO, used to live in SoCal, but on the days in the summer 150+ on the back roads is a no brainer! Only 500k in all of WY and it is the 5th largest land state.. Just dont hit the dear.. or Gods sake a buffalo!

Re: Weather Dilemna

It's nice to be able to drive year round! The only problem is the storms/ hail. I don't have a garage so I'm not sure what to do with my car now when storm season comes.

Re: Weather Dilemna

The R/T will replace my Mach1. So it will be used the same way. I'll drive until the first salting. Then it gets parked. Lucky it doesn't so as much in NY as it used to.
