Some threads are saying mygig replaces the 6 CD radio in 2010 when you get the upgraded sound system. I have a 2010 RT/C on order and I'm thinking about changing the order to get the mygig but I don't want the expensive navigation system.
What is the name of the option that gets the mygig without the navi and how much does it cost on a 2010 RT/C?
Even the cheaper mygig without the navi will have a touchscreen, right? Also I assume the upgrade audio has a subwoofer in the trunk. I need to fit golf clubs in the trunk but I'm thinking the sub might take up too much space. Can anybody with a sub in the trunk tell me how wide the trunk is behind the wheel wells?
Hal, I believe you can get the kicker sub in the RT as well, but you are correct if the car does not have the Kicker system it would have the Boston system with the rear deck sub.
I've had my Challenger almost a year and my experience with mygig has been extremely positive. The hard drive is surprisingly convenient, the ipod interface and 3.5mm input jack are handy, the bluetooth interface is smooth, and the nav system is second to none. (I also have an 06 300SRT and the nav is pure crap...I use a portable Garmin in it.)
So, while it is expensive, it's a total package and compliments the car perfectly. Take a good, hard look at the mygig unit...it's expensive but, in my opinion, worth the money.
Dont get a touch screen without steering wheel controls. It's a major pain to change stations or channels on the touch screen while your driving.

Yes, for 2010 if you get the Sound Group...you get the myGig, the 6 boston speakers and the 276 amp (assuming you didnt get the 27J/28J package that already has that upgrade) and yes the myGig is still touch screen without the nav.
I still believe there is a SGII with the extra speakers/sub/amp.

Can you add the NAVI at a later date, if so what do you think the cost could be?

Go on ebay and get a low speed bus mygig without nav (ren). You can pick them up for less than $300. It has everything except nav and bluetooth. It takes about ten minutes to swap out.
Thanks everyone. I like the idea of just buying the used mygig afterward. And the trunk sounds like it's big enough no matter whether it has a sub or not and especially if the sub is mounted in the parcel shelf.
