Find a corner spot and park as tight as you can into the corner.

This allows for Only one person to park next to you and cut your chances of door dings in half.

Yep, this. Been seeking out the corner spots since I was 15. All about reducing exposure.

Some amazing parking lots have one of those oddball single spaces tucked into a weird-angle corner somewhere. Those are the best.

At an Indian casino near Flagstaff, AZ yesterday, I saw a Hemi Orange Challenger parked all alone, as far as physically possible from the entrance. It was in perfect condition and it was apparent that the owner loves their car.

Corner spot, end of lot. All you can do is reduce your exposure. A Guy

I don't mind parking off in the distance, but there are those that will end up parking by me for some reason. Safest spot I have found is the spot right next to a handicap spot. Their spots are much wider than regular spots and parking on the edge still give them plenty of room and leaves plenty of room on the other side.

I thought this same thing too until I noticed a person in the handicap car didn't now how to park their vehicle properly, they we're so close I had to squeeze in to get in my car. I'll walk it from now on, but even then I have had people park next to me when I am far away and there is still a million open spots around.

The only time I park in any lot or near any other cars is at a cruise night or show.
It's sad at how little respect people have for other people's property in store lots. The one who parks next to you out in left field enjoys freaking you out. If I want to go wander a gathering and have peace of mind, I leave my car in the garage.

lol i get the same thing from my wife.......on another note Ive gone as far as disabling the one remote in her Jeep for the garage door that i park in so she has to use the other one further from the car when she comes home from work...she has all sorts of buckles and zippers on her purses and bags and it pretty clueless about them....Most times ill still run out and grab her bags for her lol

When I'm driving something nice, I always park far away and in a corner if I can.

However, I have a pet peeve: guys with nice cars who park over a line or otherwise c0ckeyed to take up multiple spaces. That's just a dick move and like saying you are more important than everybody else who wants to park. If you are that worried about dings, don't park in that lot.

Always always park way at the back and next to cement island so only one side is unprotected
Or I fine another really nice car that are far away. Here is our spot at our beach bar we go to , we tip the girls well so they tell us no problem parking.

It seems no matter how careful you are, someone will find a way to screw up your day. Parked my car at a meet and greet/cruise saturday night. First, I watch a guy walk up and start leaning on my car! I was cool, I calmly walked over and told him to please not lean on the car. No one like anyone leaning on their car. He called me racist and walked away. Then, a while later, I watched a lady in an suv back into the damn thing and drive off! I didn't go anywhere on sunday and when I got to work this morning, I noticed a small dent in the top of my fender, like someone popped it with the heel of their hand or something. Bad weekend all around :-(

I've always believed of hiding your tree in a forest.

If you park your car all by itself, it's going to draw the attention of dimwits who believe everyone should be as unsuccessful as they are.

Park somewhere with constant traffic, it will deter 90% of these ****s from acting because they're *******.

I follow the same precautions as you guys.

Sometimes, however parking far away from everyone can backfire on you. My son used to work in the mall and got two nasty door dings on his customized Honda Civic. One was removed by Dent Wizard but the other was impossible to pop out. After this happened, he parked all alone, as far away from the mall entrance as possible. This, unfortunately, attracted the attention of some car thieves. They, apparently, followed him home and stole his car around 2-3 AM in the morning. It was found a week later totally stripped and dented! They took his guages, angel eye headlights, wheels, tires, stereo/speakers, fuel injectors, etc. It was a complete loss.

So now tgat I have a challenger, rather than go join the Mustangs and camaros out on their island in the sun, I have been parking the last 3 days with these 3 pickups closer to the building.

Partly hiding a needle in a needle stack and partly these truck guys are all bigwigs in suits w/ briefcases not younger guys. I've seen them previously redo their parking to hug the curb or reposition between the lines. I feel my challenger is safer amongst those guy who are keeping their trucks spotless.
