Re: Who is gathering a "portfolio" of documentation/etc for their Challenger?

I have a reasonably "rare" 2005 300C in Deep Lava Red. Only 1,641 of these cars were made with a hemi in this color. I saved every piece of paperwork from this car. All the purchase info, service receipts, all the magazine reviews, everything. If I ever find a Challenger I will do the same with that car. Even with all the careful documentation the dealer who appraised my 300C could have cared less. I am sure the next owner will appreciate it but for the most part I'm not sure it will help you with resale on a car with a total production of 6,400 units.

Re: Who is gathering a "portfolio" of documentation/etc for their Challenger?

I'm getting an '09 so it'll be more than 6400 units. The purpose is not for resale. If all goes as planned I will never sell this car. It's for nostalgic purposes like I said. I want it for myself, not to try and boost the resale value of the car. If I wanted to make an investment, I wouldn't be looking in the automotive world to do it

Re: Who is gathering a "portfolio" of documentation/etc for their Challenger?

I have the original bill of sale and the build sheets and the window stickers from both my 68 and my 71. I also have one of the brochures from each. When I last had them appraised for the insurance, the appraiser said it was unusual but it improves the value.

Well, I'm on the lookout to purchase a 2009 Challenger Press Kit from the New York autoshow (NYIAS). If anyone knows where I can grab one or is willing to sell one, let me know.

Im definately collecting all of the memorabilia I can. Bob is great about helping us out with that. He sends all the stuff he knows we would want, and has access to stuff we cannot get on our own. Gotta love the guy

Re: Who is gathering a "portfolio" of documentation/etc for their Challenger?

So far I've got the usual vehicle order, the early brochure, any magazine I can find with the new Challenger on it. Going tomorrow to get the newest brochure from the dealership. When I ordered my car yesterday, they gave me a cool Dodge cap with the dealerships name stitched in it, plan on wearing it when I pick it up. I thought I would keep it on the dash, but realistically, how long would it stay up there?

Jack

I have every document associated with the build and delivery of my car including the original title.

Re: Who is gathering a "portfolio" of documentation/etc for their Challenger?

Count me in on collecting anything and everything collectible on the Challenger. I already have 2 boxes already sealed and put away. Posters, cars, mugs, press kits, magazines, brochures, newspaper articles and all paperwork of course to date. There's this really hot hemi orange/black Challenger cap that I still need to secure...but other than that what I have is in pristine condition so I can pass it along years down the line. Save EVERYTHING with this car. This has been and will continue to be one WILD ride!!

Re: Who is gathering a "portfolio" of documentation/etc for their Challenger?

All you guys and ladies who bought from Bob get an extra kicker as 50 years from now you can get on Dodges RLD blog and show anyone how it all began for you..
How cool is that..
Provenance is very important if you ever decide to roll it across the block at Barret Jackson some years way down the line.
