I had just filled my 15' SXT up with gas, and when I went to start it, I pushed the button and instead of starting, the dash just lit up and she didn't start. She didn't even try to. I didn't put the wrong fuel in btw. But the dash wasn't lit up in a way I've never seen it before. No warning lights, but the fuel gage's and a timer showed up... normally my fuel and temp don't come up till the car is actually started, and I've never seen the timer before lol. I just opened the door to see if that would fix it, but it beeped and said "ignition or key is not activiated" (it didn't say exactly that, but something along the lines) so I closed the door and started it up again and it roared to life no problems. What happened? It wasn't in sport. Also, at the top of the start button it said "ACC" rather than engine
On occasion I've pressed the button and got nothing then on a second try all is fine. Happens on a rare occasion but it's been a handful of times over the last five years.
All this technology crap comes with consequences, keys were fine for a long time and now we get buttons.
This answers your question (Well, this and the owner's manual. ). ACC is accessory mode, where you can have the radio on without powering the engine components (fuel pump, PCM, etc).
