Re: Will you pay 'Dealer Mark-up' (Marketing Allowance)?

Don't do it!!!! If we all stick together and refuse to pay than they will get the point and it will never be brought up again. Back in 93' I watched a local dealer try to add $20,000 to a Viper and it never sold until 96' at a huge discount. No need for greed here, dealers. If you make $10,000 on one car and have the whole town pissed at you what's the point. Sell 10 cars and make $1,000 on each and everyone is happy. You will find a boatload of people who will buy a msrp. But how many at a huge markup? I know from past experience, If I walk into a dealer and I'm hit with "markup crap", I'm leaving. I will shop around and will probably NEVER return.

Re: Will you pay 'Dealer Mark-up' (Marketing Allowance)?

I just wandered into the local Dodge dealership to look at SRT-8 cars. They all had $10,000 added to the MSRP. The salesman said everyone is doing it. No doubt the Challenger would be marked up, at least that much. I've waited over 30 years to get another Challenger and another 1-2 years so I can pay a fair MSRP price won't kill me.

I'm convinced everyone at the place knew less than we do.

not one cent over. I know the owner of a local dealer now, so I can get it at cost. A buddy just bought his new viper coupe for 7k under.

Yeah for sure, I went to two dodge dealerships here in SLC and I knew far more details then both of them did. It was kind of funny because I went in there hoping for more info on the Challenger, but I was the one that ended up giving them more information. And its all thanks to this website!

Talking Re: Will you pay 'Dealer Mark-up' (Marketing Allowance)?

Hell yeah I'll pay over MSRP for a spankin' new Challenger. No, I am not gonna wait and watch other guys beating the hell out of them on the road while I wait for the price to come down.

I paid 3k over MSRP for my '06 300C SRT-8. I ordered it last March and got t in August. I've had so much fun with this car: I would have paid more!

The Challenger is gonna be even more fun to drive. I can't wait!
