How-To: Install HID Fog Lights

Her Guys,

Here is a little write up on installing our fog lights. The pictures aren't very good of the job itself, but hopefully my descriptions will make up for it!

The install shouldn't take more than an hour!!

Tools Needed:
Flat head screwdriver
7mm Socket
10mm Socket
Ratchet
Floor Jack

Step 1: Remove the plastic belly pans (skid plates)
Take your flathead screwdriver and remove the 3 "push in" style plugs, from the inner fender well on both sides. These plugs are located towards the front of the fender well at the bottom. Pull the top, small, portion of the plug away from the base then pull the rest of the plug out. NOTE: You may need to turn the wheel all the way in each direction to get good access to the plugs.

Step 2: Remove skid plate / belly pan screws
Use your ratchet and 7mm socket to remove all the screws at the bottom of the front bumper. This is what is holding up the plastic skid plate. Once all the 7mm screws are out (approx. 8) there are two more bolts towards the middle of the car, holding up the rest of the front skid plate. Use your 10mm socket to remove those two and take out the plastic piece.

This will free up access to your fog lights.

Step 3: Remove Bulbs
At this point of your installation you will need to twist and pull the H10 bulbs out of the factory housing, then unplug the factory fog light plug from the bulb.

Step 4: Install Bulbs
Take the BFxenon HID bulbs and place them into the stock fog light housing using the "push and twist" method. This should secure the bulbs into the fog light housing.

Step 5: Install Ballast
My recommendation for this is to plug the factory fog light plug into the ballast and measure the distance you have in order to mount the ballast in a secure place. Again, my recommendation for that is the metal bumper support. There should be a gap between the top and bottom portion on the bumper support. (This is where a picture would have come in really handy!) In that gap there are small vertical bars that go up and down. These are perfect to get a zip tie around in order to secure the ballast. NOTE: Make sure that the positive goes to the positive and the negative wires go to the negative!

Step 6: Plug it all in
Once your ballast is securely fastened, you can plug your bulbs into the ballast and turn them on. NOTE: Make sure that the positive goes to the positive and the negative wires go to the negative! This is a very common misunderstanding, which usually fixes any question about the bulbs not igniting.

Step 7: Put it back together
Now, you are almost done. Just reinstall the plastic skid plates and enjoy your lights!

I have min installed but made a few modifications to the install we changed out the conenctions and used mopar conectors and instead of using the zip ties we actually mounted the balast on each side and screwed them into place no chance of them rattling or any other issues. I'll post dome pics of them mounted.
