I think they are working on another engine for the new C7 platform. Not 100% positive though. The LS7 has been around a while.

I wonder if this is the engine Motortrend just did a writeup on.

6.2L, VVT, 8-4 cylinder deactivation and direct injection.

by base model i meant to say 'top' base model....which is the SS and 5.0......the special edition models are faster than the SRT, but the SRT is not a special edition model....Dodge doesnt have one(yet)

So you see we do lose the HP war. LOL But I don't care because my RT looks better, drives more comfortable and gets allot more positive comments than the other two.
cant compare a 5.0 to a RT.....on a good day you maybe could compare a SS to a RT.....

everyone but ralph gillis would compare a SRT to a 5.0 and SS

SRT is the GT500 and ZL1's competition
R/T is the 5.0 and SS competition
SE is the V6 Mustang and RS competition.

I dont see how that can even be disputed.........

You know that, and I know that, but the horsepower challenged among us refuse to accept the truth. Besides, Street & Racing Technology by no way means a "special edition vehicle" from Dodge.*LOL

I have owned muscle cars from 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 10's.

A Challenger R/T is no slouch.

I ended up alongside a new Camaro SS a few weeks ago. I could tell by the way he was driving he was going to mess with me. We were in traffic. I was in left lane and downshifted to 2nd, his window was down so he could hear my engine wind up. Of course this was like really packing a shot gun, with the revs wound up like that when I got on it that 5.7 was giving all it had. After the dig I was slowly gaining on him too, traffic forced us to let off. Maybe it was an automatic, I dunno. I won't shy away from an SS again, cause it just wasn't all that!
