Freaking Prius!

Maybe it just comes with living in Austin but it seems like every time I fight my way through slow traffic there's some slomosapien in a freaking Prius leading the parade.

I've been wanting to post this for a while now but held off out of respect for them helping to save us from global warming. Can they not save the planet and at least drive the speed limit at the same time? Pulling over to the right lane would be a treat too!

How about you? Which cars are the top slomofos in your neck of the woods?

Not sure it's a Prius thing more than an Austin thing. I recently saw a bike cop flashing his lights for a mile or more before pulling alongside someone in a Golf who was sat in the left lane doing ~55 (in a 70 limit) on 35 in north Austin. I was surprised and disappointed to see the cop give up after failing to get the womnan to change lane and simply rode off at speed. Should have pulled her over and taken her license!!!

Anything that's a Toyota. For some reason they think if they step on it their accelerator will stick..

Here it is minivans. Almost everyone in a minivan either drives 10-15 MPH under the speed limit or drives like a total maniac. I guess if I was stuck driving a minivan I be PO'd too.

There is the occasional tractor but they mostly try to get off the road as soon as possible.

Oh man. Drivers in general are so bad here in southern CA, but Prius drivers bug me just a little bit more. There are so many of them here thinking they're saving the world. I once had a smart car driver tell me I was irresponsible for owning 2 vehicles that get bad gas mileage. Which is ironic when you factor in that I work from home and probably only drive 5000 miles or so a year. Even at 14 mpg which my truck averages I waste less gas per year than the tree huggers commuting in their high mpg hipstermobiles.

My StillyPD friend sent me that CLASSIC She also has a bumper sticker on her crown vic that says "my next car will have a HEMI."

Minivans are the slowest By far. If they are going fast it is scary because you know those 7000lbs vehicles can not handle.

Most of the ones i see have a damn cell phone stuck to their head. I guess they miss the signs posted (in Texas anyway) stating left lane is for passing only. As for the officer who simply flashed the slow woman and drove off... Lazy? Or hopefully going to a call. It is a traffic violation.

I see all kinds leading the parade, a few weeks ago I got stuck behind a bunch of cars going 45 in a 55 on a 2 lane road, it took me 5 miles to pass them and what was in the lead....a SRT Challenger!!! I get behind him and he then decides he can drive 55, but I pass anyway. a guy in his 60's was driving.
