I agree with you 100 percent. Basically how could they tame a beast that is fairly new to the market with higher limits and more brute force?

ZR-1

Can you say "professional driving eperience" ! In the hands of a lesser driver , I would buy the excuse that the viper couldn't be tamed good enough , but with a professional driver who's driven ALL kinds of super cars and under the same conditions, it's not a good enough excuse : I mean steel lousy brake system compared to vette's carbon ceramic brakes, come on dodge ! The viper is clearly a less refined animal and unless dodge can recalibrate it's chassis better , it will always fall second to the ZR-1 . The kicker is that by late 2013 the new C-7 ZR-1 will be out and will absolutely beat the crap out the viper.

First off, isn't that the Viper's "mantra"? To be a VIPER!

Secondly, from what I've read about this test, the Vette had the ZR1 Performance package (better tires and better shifter/gear ratios) yet the Viper wasn't equipped with the "track pack" (better tires, slotted two-piece lightweight rotors, and lightweight wheels).

Hmmm! The guy in the video praised the ZR1 for its tires (saying that they stuck better than any previous ZR1 he's tested) and its torque curve (no doubt related to the new gears). I wonder how much the "track pack" would have improved the Viper's performance and feel...

Just because you're a "professional driver" doesn't mean you can drive EVERY car to its limits.

I'm sure Jeff Gordon's performance in a F1 car isn't up to Sabastian Vettle's level, or vice-versa in a NASCAR stocker. The talent maybe there, but without "seat time" and familiarity, you're really just guessing where the limits are.

I read a story somewhere where Ralph Gilles told MT he'd show them HOW to drive a Viper. SHOW THEM!!! LOL!!!

The Viper is still drop-dead gorgeous. The C6 has the look of a plain-jane supercar wannabe. Even the C7 is a letdown with those weird Camaro-ized taillights.

So after checking out that vid, I did what we all probably did......looked up the 392 episode. Only, listen carefully at 4:54.

zr-1

If Ralph Gilles (who I respect) really did tell MT that he would show them how to drive the viper , than where is he ? Secondly , I am sure Ralph couldn't have done a better job than randy probst who incidently got the new world track time out of the ZR-1 vette ! And would Ralph have been more brave than randy probst to going around the hairpin corner's with the viper's suspension and those lousy steel brakes ? I don't think so...

Actually It was. The "Track Pack" option only comes with the Multi-spoke Sidewinder II which was on this car.

SRT Viper options.

Did you mean that he called it a Charger? I mean honestly, there's a plaque over by the a/c vent that says Challenger. Somebody needs to teach him how to be more observant.
