This months Car and Driver basically came to the same conclusion and also was critical of a lot of the same things such as the Vipers brakes and the seats compared to the Vette. Chevrolet has worked several consecutive model years to hone the C6 platform to what it is today, whereas ther Vipers production and engineering were both interrupted. Either way, both cars are amazing and spank several foreign exotic cars for less money.

I'd like to see the times if the Viper were wearing the same tires as the Vett...but like I keep saying, the Viper is in major need of a brake upgrade. I mean come on, even a Jeep GC SRT8 has 6 piston calipers and 15" rotors..while the Viper is stuck with the same basic 4piston calipers and 14" rotors that are on every current SRT besides the 12+ Jeep!

There is a reason for actually running races instead of simply comparing these kinds of tests and handing out trophies. "My magazine test beats your magazine test!" Time will tell on real tracks running fender to fender and drivers with seat time in the cars, not these cheesy comparisons. One thing is for sure, you can fix power and handling issues. It's much harder to fix ugly (read the cheap looking hole in the hood to show off an engine cover that looks like any rental car and "ho hum" body lines).

I could care a less about what the circle track time says. The viper looks amazing, and it has major power with big naturally aspirated displacement. O yeah.. that's why I got my challenger The viper is more my style but I would never decline a zr1. Those are two of my favorite cars.

ya chevy has had almost 10 years to get the vett right

hears a thought what if viper has a base version w the 6.4 392 in it. The new vett has the new 6.2L and you will be able to get one in the 50k range. I know that srt would prob never do it but it would be cool... back on topic SRT is prob going to fix those seats.

ZR-1 ugly

You can easily tint the window box over the engine , but to say the rest of the ZR-1 design is ugly is plain retarded !!!

Retarded? Really? What are you 12 years old? That's how my ten year old grandson talks. So much for credibility...

Taste in cars is subjective but, sorry, the ZR-1 does nothing for me lookswise. It's a case of the emperor's new clothes as far as I'm concerned.
