As long as chrysler registered a VIN with dash plaque number, why would they have to match exactly? That would be very hard to do. If they just kept records of what VIN's got what number, you could somehow verify that way.

The dash # was 3521

Yea, at this point it seems to be mostly marketing. My question is though, do they keep record of what each VIN recieved as a dash plaque. If they did that, then it still has its importance.
