Here is a video of the Plymouth Rapid Transit System starring the Cuda, Duster 340, GTX, Road Runner and Sport Fury GT. Clips include Richard Petty's #43 Superbird, Swede Savage's #42 AAR Cuda, Don "The Snake" Prudhomme's Cuda funny car, and Don Garlits' hemi powered top fuel dragster.
And yes, a modern Challenger sneaks in there around the 3:20 mark.
Thanks! I tried to create a video that reflected the posters on my wall in high school. The "Two Cudas" ad is scanned from the ad I had on the wall back then, still have the ad. The one thing I wanted but couldn't find was vintage footage of a Snake vs Mongoose match race with the Cuda funny car...
Saw 'em run a grudge match back in the early 70's. Prudhomme a 'Cuda and Ed the Ace a Duster. Also got to see Jungle Jim Masmanian? yeah that guy, Shirley and "BIG" along with several others of notoriety back in the day all at small strips in Illinois. One thing I'll never forget is "BIG" lying on hot asphalt at Byron Dragway tearing down the lower end, himself, while the Snake and Muldowny were signing autographs.
Remember FUEL ALTEREDS? Wow! Those guys had real skill in handling insanity on wheels!
Damn I'm old!
