Model Cars I Built

I'm not sure if this is the correct section but I consider this as art. So here we go.

First up is a 1970 Monte Carlo customized to look like the car in The Fast And The Furious : Tokyo Drift.

Re: Model Cars I Built

Second is the famous 'Joe Dirt' 1969 Dodge Daytona. It uses to be a General Lee. The nose and wing are actually from a Superbird, along with the hood.

And now my personal favorite. 'Eleanor'. The 1973 Ford Mustang from the classic Gone in 60 Seconds.

Re: Model Cars I Built

Thanks a lot. Eleanor was a pain. That drivers side fender must be the hardest thing I've ever done lol. I had to cut it completely off the car, and cut out the inner fenders as well. Also it may not seem like it but creating fake rust on a model like on the Daytona.... Hours and hours of aggravation lol. It's so hard to do. I will post more cars soon.

Re: Model Cars I Built

These are great, awesome work there!
This is the side of modeling that I like to see, the creative replication of junkers or beaters. I used to do some of this many years back with airplanes making dioramas of crashed WWII planes. PITA, but really neat when done! Bullet holes were cool, heating a needle and pushing it thru the plastic. Making a wave of .50cal holes along the fuselage and burn marks coming from some of them.

Re: Model Cars I Built

Thanks! I'm glad you guys like them. I have a lot more fun building models this way to be honest. One thing that I like is if I mess up it doesn't matter lol. Well here are a few more cars.

1967 Impala SS 427.

Re: Model Cars I Built

This one is a die cast model kit. It came already painted but I had to put it together. I took the wheels off and put bigger wheels on it and made custom door hinges.

1961 Impala.
