Texas Mile March, 2017

Anyone considering making the trip down to Victoria in March for the Texas Mile? New location but still about the same distance from Dallas. Had a blast last year!

Only 700 miles from El Paso to Victoria. That's nothing in Texas

I met people that drove from Maine last year! Registration starts at 5:00 PM CDT Sunday and it has sold out in the past in as few as 3 hours. There's also a Colorado and Arkansas Mile too sponsored by the same group.

Im a hell of a lot closer to Arkansas.... though in June? That would be some HOT racing.

looking at the rules... for a street legal car do you need any safety gear other than a helmet?

For us folks that don't exceed 199 MPH, all that is required is a SNELL SA2010 or SA2015 rated helmet and a pair of SFI SPEC 3.3/1 gloves. I thought about Arkansas last year but couldn't swing it.

Hey txborn58, I'm thinking about it. They do a pretty good job of not telling you how much the event is. Give you give me a clue?

Thanks

I see you traded your white R/T in! Nice choice! Cost is $425 for Sat/Sun. $525 for Friday thru Sunday. I usually go down Thursday and get registered and inspected by Tech so I can hit it first thing Friday. Less gate then as people are in route so can get more runs in.

There may be another forum member headed down as well.

Well, according to the rules I'm out. I put Firestone Indy 500 tires on a month ago, and they have a W rating, and stock were Y. W is 168mph and I shouldn't be able to do that in a mile, but the rules state they have to be equal to what came on the car...

I'll be cheering you on from Dallas, make me proud.
