I stopped watching the evening of the first day. Not because I didn't care but because there wasn't anything else I needed to know. I can be one hardassed cold SOB but when
kids go missing, found dead, after being gone for months, or strangled by some as*hole in
a basement somewhere It just tears me up.
I was at work when I got the notification on my phone (fox news app) and I immediately stopped what I was doing as I was overcome with sadness. My wife teaches K-5 at an elementary school about 10 minutes from our house. I cannot imagine the pain of losing her let alone if I had a child to lose.
God bless those families affected. I hope this shooter rots in hell.
It's proof that evil exists.
I try not to watch it. Got 3 youngsters and just the thought of loosing a child is unimaginable. May The Lord ease the Paine on those families and my prayers go out to them. And the world should take notice as how this small community has come together.
Everyone in my office stopped answering phones and working on their computers when the news broke out on our tv's, we all just stared at each other in shock.... I hope somehow, some day, the families involved can find peace.
I lost my youngest son (23) 3 years ago and it still tears my heart out whenever I think of him. I can sympathize with these families but not to their extent as this was horrific. Unfortunately their deaths will be used as a political tool rather than a solemn duty. Something must be done, not sure what the right answer is but I know it is not one answer but a large amount of steps to control this sort of thing from happening again.
Is anyone in politics or the media sane enough to seek only the truth and ways to solve a problem for real or have some empathy for the victims? I gave up watching anything more after the first day, just too infuriated at all the stooges I saw, but I suspect sick, violent video games and perhaps legal drugs that are prescribed to children like candy, were involved. Are these things contributing factors creating these nuts? I don't know, I'm no expert. But reason tells me when young minds are taught that life has no value, that death and dismemberment is a way to win a game, it begins a downward spiral that takes some with an unstable mind to this kind of extreme.
You pretty much have it. Everyone feels such empathy for the families that it's easy to blame the end result instead of getting to the root cause.
It's shocking when you look into these mass shooting and see a common theme amongst all of them. No one wants to talk about the white elephant in the room and ask why so many young people need to be loaded up on medication just to get through the day. Take a look at this. Something is seriously going on and we need to quit putting our heads in the sand.
