SCC Julian Pie Cruise Nov 22nd

ALL DODGE CHALLENGERS ARE WELCOME YOUNG AND OLD, MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS...

Count down to Julian Pie...
Get a good night's sleep because the wait is almost over.

I have organized an SCC Cruise from Temecula to the mountain community of Julian in San Diego county. This will take place on Sunday November 22nd. Sign-up by submitting a reply here, or sending me a PM.

The route will be CA-79 to CA-78 into Julian, the back via CA-78, CA-79, CA-76, and Pala Rd. into Temecula. This is a great drive for anyone who has not been to Julian.

Route Map - <Google Maps: SCC Temecula to Julian Cruise>

We willl start from Old Town Temecula. We will meet on Front St. at 8:30 in front of the Starbucks, get coffee, and roll out at 9:00. If parking is tight on the street, we will meet in the parking lot behind the beer garden. (see attached image). Stops include the Sunshine Summit General Store, Inaja Memorial Park (photo op), downtown Julian, Lake Henshaw, Pauma Valley, Birdsall Park (across from Pechanga Casino), and finishing up at the Swing Inn Cafe in Old Town Temecula.

Parking may be a Challenge(r) when we get to Julian. I spoke with the attendant at one of the larger lots in town about a discount for our group. The only problem is the lot is not paved. Here is the email I received from Father Moraga of St. Elizabeth's (the owner of the lot).

"To the Dodge Challenger Car Club of Southern California:

Peace to you.

We are extending a courtesy discount to your Car Club when you visit Julian on Sunday, November 22, 2009. Instead of paying $5.00 per car, we will only ask for $3.00 per car. We will notify our Parking Lot Volunteers Jackie Cox and Irene Haugen to extend this courtesy to you. "If you can't Ram 'em, Dodge 'em." Or is it the other way around? Anyway, welcome to Julian.

Sincerely,

Fr. Cecilio T. Moraga, Pastor
St. Elizabeth of Hungary "

I'm ready that is going to be a nice 300 mile day. We used to go down that way to Bates nut farm to the pumpkin patch when the kids where small.

I just realized that I'm going to surpass the 3K mark at my 11 month and 1 week point during this cruise.

G2 and I did the pre-run yesterday. It was a beautiful day to ride to Julian. It was a balmy 73 degrees. I will be putting the plan and route together this week.

Had a great time on the pre-run to Julian. Sorry I will be out of town for the real deal. You guys/gals will have a great ride that's for sure. This was my first drive to Julian and I loved it. Lots of curves, photo ops and great views.
