The stock rims are 9" wide, so the widest tire would be a 275/40. (Note- A 275 tire can take up to an 11" rim).

Many have squeezed wider tires on the stock rim, but they will not perform properly and will wear out prematurely.

When my 245s wear out on my SRT, I am going to install new 245s in the front and 275s on the rear for that "old school" look.

I agree with this ^^^ completely... BUT 275's n 315's look SIIIIIICK! The only real disadvantage of the 315's is they get squishy n real hard fast cornering. As far as wear if you keep them properly inflated they wear evenly. It gives u a real ol skool musclar look but if you drive really hard all the time the 245/275 is a better choice.

Can a 275/40 x 20 be used up front if a wheel spacer is used to kick the tire out a bit? Maybe 1/4"?

PS: W/regard to the 315's referenced above, what aspect ratio?
