Now that I've got my wife's chrome 5 spoke Americans on (they look great), I can't help but think they'd look even better in black chrome. Has anyone changed the finish on their wheels? Is it even practical from a cost perspective?
Search/Google "Plasti-dip wheels", this is probably the safest, cheapest, fastest way to black-out your wheels. I think that you will lose the chrome effect thought, but just something to look into.
i talked to a powdercoat shop in my town.. they can do black chrome powser coats for 70.00 a wheel.. take in mind TRUE black chrome has a GREENISH TINT to it.. and he showed me to color samples.
The Challenger SRT8 with the broad spoke rims looks hot, I really like that black chrome. I've never seen that before. If it has a greenish tint to it I can't see it in the pictures.

He was refering to the green as more of a finish rather than a color. Only other way to descibe black chrome is more of a "liquid" or wet looking dark chrome (as chrome has a blueish hue to it). The wheels you are referencing look to be the 300 SRT8 wheels.
